Some pieces of media and other things I enjoyed a great amount of time on these last two months of 2023. A mixed bag of games, shows, reads, music and other stuff.
Hello, friends! Happy New Year! We’re down to the final FMF for 2023, and I know it’s a little late, but we’re here to check it out nonetheless! Looking back, my 2023 was filled with gorgeous anime, shows, movies, and music— some months had more than others, but all coloured my life equally. ✨ I’m not going to hold off any longer and share all of my fave finds from the last two months to cap off last year’s set of monthly finds!
Movies
Drowning Love
“Natsume - a teen fashion model from Tokyo - feels empty after having moved into a country town with her family. One day, she meets Koh, heir of Shinto priest family and finds herself falling under the spell of a selfish yet handsome boy.”
The Haunted Mansion
“A single mom named Gabbie hires a tour guide, a psychic, a priest and a historian to help exorcise her newly bought mansion after discovering it is inhabited by ghosts.”

“If you had one day more with the girl of your dreams, what would you do? That's the problem faced by Ian, who loses beautiful violinist Samantha in a car crash, then wakes up to find he has another shot.”
Reads
A Substitute Marriage With an Admirable Husband (Drama & Romance, [NSFW] completed)
Migi & Dali (Drama, Mystery, Slice of Life, completed) - I picked up from where Episode 5 left, I believe. The story is such a perfect balance of comedy and mystery and I think the ending is just lovely.
MF Ghost (Sci-fi, Sports, ongoing) - Something I picked up from the anime left as well! I’m not big on cars, but as someone who watched the prequel, I find this sequel enjoyable!
Undead Unluck (Action, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Supernatural) - Another one picked up from where the anime left off. I fell in love with the anime and simply had to find out what happens next… I have to say that I also love Fuuko and Andy’s chemistry, though I know some are rather squicked about it due to Andy being such a long-lived phenomenon while Fuuko is just 18 years old.

Fire Emblem Heroes Book VIII - I can’t remember when I started playing FEH, but this is the first time I’ve been so thrilled to play a new chapter. Ratatoskr is so cute! The rest of the FEH community is complaining about the lack of game-original male protagonists apart from Alfonse, but cute girls do appeal more to the fanbase, me included.

I haven’t even posted any of these on my blog Instagram! It’s like everything has been in a deep freeze since September, but I ought to soldier on and update my accounts… Hopefully, there will be more cute stuff in store for us this 2024!

Stereo Sunset by Himika Akaneya + AmPm
Be a flower by Ryokuoushoku Shakai and The Spell by AiNA THE END - From The Apothecary Diaries OST. Another perfectly paired OP and ED. I particularly like the message of Be a flower, where the song says blooming in the corner isn’t really all bad and you just have to be yourself to shine.

The Waltz from Sousou no Frieren EP 15! I’m such a sucker for these kinds of songs because it makes me daydream. I feel I really might be a princess in my past life or something.
For me, the last few months of 2023 just felt like I was barreling through a busy road without a care in the world. I have so many passion projects I want to keep up with and I’m clearly doing such a poor job at them… But that’s the thing about projects from the heart— you may get a little tired, but you can’t ever give up on them.
But at the same time, part of me also recognises which ones I really have to take a step back from. Inconsistency kills me, after all, even more when it comes from me. I suppose I’ll just have to decide on what does and does not deserve most of my energy. And maybe kinda hope that this life and my other life may finally come together? Who knows lol. ✨
It’s been a fun last 12 months and I’m cautiously optimistic about 2024. I have a feeling that this year will herald a lot of new beginnings for me, hopefully, all good ones. Wishing nothing but the best and all of the good things in the world for us all, but most especially for me! (Hehe!) Much love! 🌻
